Sadly after 8 years I have to sell my 205.
Basic spec is as follows;
Engine; had a professional nut and bolt re-build about 25k ago. Was blue printed and lightened and balanced. It makes 135 bhp with about 160ftlb of torque.
Its running on twin 40 webers with K7N's. It has always had regular oil changes and on tickover the oil pressure is about 42psi
Brakes; Front are 4 pot Wilwoods with green stuff pads and drilled and grooved discs. Rears are standard discs/calipers.
Suspension; Freshly rebuilt rear beam (about 500 miles ago) rear shocks are 306 tarmac. Front is Bilstein Sprintline so over all the car is about 40mm lower. 309 GTi wishbones and drive shafts. (wishbone bushes changed only a month ago)
Gearbox; This was rebuilt and fitted with close ratios about 2000 miles ago.
Diff; It has a Kaaz double ramp diff which was serviced only a few months ago and works very well.
Shell; It has a West Midland Motorsport fitted OMP 10 point cage, four point harness only bought fitted 6 months ago and a Sparco bucket seat.
Wheels and Tyres; I will throw in, if needed 6 (I think) spare wheels and good tyres. Four of the wheels have been refurbed the others need tidying up but are still fine to use. I use them during the winter.
It has a quick shift kit and proper motorsport gear linkage kit.
Solid rear beam mounts.
The cam fitted is only a very mild one as when the engine was ready to be re-fitted I couldn't afford decent throttle bodies, ecu etc. and Weber if you remember had a few problems meaning the price of second hand carbs went through the roof.
I therefore had to re-fit the original fuel injection until things went back to normal and could only fit a Kent PT36 (I think it is off the top of my head ).
A decent cam would obviously gain a few more ponies. ;D
Alarm; Thatcham cat 1
6 months tax
4 months MoT
Good points; This has been a pretty d**n reliable car and has only ever failed an MoT first time once. (wishbone bushes)
I have a fist full of receipts including Mot's
Bad points; It is a sunroof model and I have replaced the sunroof with an ali plate but due to a family emergency I had to rush it and it isn't as tidy a job as I would have liked but can be sorted to make it a lot neater.
It has lost a few patches of laquer on the bonnet and has a small bubble of laquer on the near side wing.
The bucket seat has a large tear but still gets through scrutineering without problem.
Clicky starter motor.
Slight oil leak. (dizzy oil seal I think)
Overall this is a really reliable car which has been a lot of fun to drive. If it goes I will really miss it.
Looking for £2500
